Wow, this is very hard to read Jeremiah. I might be able to help you, but you have to be clearer on everything. Im guessing that it slipped out of gear on you and now you have lost all your gears??? It could be a shift cable problem. I have only read about it, but most people (on JBO) who have lost all of their gears found that streched, broken, or dissconnected shift cables were the cause. I would recomment checking to shift cables, then gettin back to us.
P.S. Im guessing english class wasnt your best subject, but your going to have try harder to use paragraphs, periods, and spell check.
ok im sorry for the bad grammer but i was irritated when i wrote them. well i checked the cables and they don't seems stretched out or anything if i shift it into gear on top of the transmission to shifter inside the car goes completely into gear i was talking to a friend of mine he said when i put this tranny in that one of the axles probably slipt or came out a little bit so im gonna try that cause the trany doesn't grind it just makes a weird noise in 5th and 4th gear but no others so i think its the drive axle too
"how do you get in"
yes when i put it into gear the speedo does move and if i push the gas it goes higher like if i was driveing it. yeah i can feal it going into gear when i shift so it probably is one of the axles slipped out??? and if so do i have to rip everything apart again or can i pry it in while its on the ground

Then it sounds like you dont have your half shafts popped into the tranny properly...
You usually dont have to tear it down completely, just try jacking up and removing the wheel, and giving it a good 'ol thrust from there. You have to get the c-clip to engage inside the tranny, otherwise this is what happens.

This could be the case. Also try putting it in gear manually (but moving the shifter in the engine bay), or by hand. Get it into any gear and then try to get in the car and let out on the clutch. You will need to put it in gear with the car off. If it works and the car moves, or stalls out then you have bad shifter cables. This is easy to do.

yeah i figurd it out it was the axle popped out i had not been able to look at it since my friend told methat it might be the axles but i finaly got it out of the snow and looked and i can see a space on the drivers side between the transmission and the boot thing. Which wheel is the drive tire on cavaliers?
