2.4L 4T40E Identification

I know the 4T40E bell housings are different between the 2.4L, 2.2L OHV and the 2.2L Eco, I need to know how to identify a 2.4L from the others. Is the engine size or any codes stamped into the casting that will distinguish it or is the bolt hole placement the only way to tell them apart? Any info would help.
