I take it you have a 4spd auto? Did you already change the lines? They come together as one set, Use a line (flare nut) wrench to remove the fittings from the rad. Remember they sometimes can get rotted on and there is the potential to cause damage to the nuts on the rad tank. The lines are held in by a bracket and a nut, use a 10mm socket to remove the nut and pop out both lines together. Anyways as for the filter, no you need to remove the bottom trans pan to remove the fluid filter. They are 8mm bolts. Remove the pan, clean the pan and the magnet well. Clean the gasket (it is reusable providing its in good shape with no rips, etc,) Remove the filter and seal. Install new filter and seal. Clean the mating surfaces of the trans, I usually use a rag and brake cleans. Put the gasket on the pan, and then reinstall the pan. Get a few of them hand tight and then install all of the bolts, Torque them in the proper sequence and to 124inch lbs. Fill the trans with approximately 7 litres of fluid, Make sure the car is level, start the engine up, and shift into each gear for a couple of seconds, leave it in park with the engine running and then you will need to set the fluid level by removing a 11mm head bolt on the passenger side of the transmission near the right side half shaft (only bolt in that area) remove it and reinstall it once the fluid is just trickling from the bottom of the hole, tighten the bolt and then take it on a road test and you are done
