I installed my B&M Shifter today. Love it.
Only problem is with the reverse lockout.
If I put the stick in neutral, and then slide it all the way right and then down, without pulling up on the reverse lockout sleeve, the tranny partly engages into 'R'. If I let off the clutch, she grinds. I can get it into R with no problem by lifting the sleeve but I'd like to somehow change it so that when I do slide it into R without lifting the sleeve the tranny is still into N. Mainly because when other people drive my car, I can see them shoving the shifter into R, letting off the clutch and grinidng my gears all to hell.
The other option is to just take the lockout right out, but I'd like to try to leave it in.
I've adjusted the fore/aft cable as far as I can go. I'd have to cut the plastic end in order to allow for move movement. Has anyone done this?

If I remember correctly, the lockout is simply a tab that hits a bracket....just bend them so they meet when/where you want them to. Just be gentle so niether breaks.
I thought of this, but it didn't look like it would bend well. Here goes nothing! If all else fails, I'll just take it out.

just put the boot under the sleeve thing. or just dont try to put it in reverse without lifting it and tell your friends not to either

Well, I bent it with ease. 10 seconds and problem solved!
Thanks everyone.
