It does help, but it all depends on your other mods. Also my Yank only stalls at around 2800rpm. It helps you get higher up in the RPM range and closer to more HP. You might have traction issues with it. Which is not a bad thing, just get sticker tires.

I see no cons.

I have one, love it.
Only weird thing is, if your backing out of a driveway going UP, it will take a hard push of the gas pedal to actually get off the driveway lol..

Yank used to make them as a part of their regular production items, but discontinued them due to lack-luster sales. David S. The Camaro Guy, works/ed for them and was resposible for cleaning out their old warehouse and was selling them for dirt cheep, but alas, the last I knew he had no more. J-Tuners was only selling them, if they got enough of them ordered to make their minimum order (5?).

The Yank TC is an outstanding TC. The stall rating acutally has more to do with the amount of torque your motor makes. The more torque you make, the higher the stall rpm. Mine stalls about 2,700ish rpms, but that will go up when I make more torque.

I got at least .1-.2 of a sec increase in the quarter. I was stuck at 15.6 for EVER.

fortunately for me i just bought mine off mastin a couple months ago....

too bad it's going to sit for like a year before i finally get to use it

madjack-i did not know the stall increased with torque, thats very nice. that way it's not that bad for a spirited daily driven car but then when you have boost and get up there in some real torque numbers it comes alive, i like that actually.

mike-your car never ceases to amaze me, i cannot believe you got that thing to run a 15.4 and it being an auto, it was all i could do to get my 5spd z to run a 15.4-which is pathetic must be them POS pulley's you sell

Wanting a nice set of black 17's with mint tires? Pm me.

Lol I think David could answer that question for ya. Auto trannies can take quite a beating. They are pretty good if you are boosting because you never lose boost. So I say stick with the auto. Doing a 5 spd. swap is a pain in the ass and suspensive.

ive got both, thats the trick

have a 5spd car AND an auto hahaha

Casey, I honestly think its all about personal choice with manual and auto.. TO ME, I dont think its worth the manual swap since my car started out as an auto. With the auto, you loose SOME HP through our big ol trannies, with manual you dont loose as much.. Then again, with manuals, you loose boost when shift, with auto's none at all.. Sooo, its one of those things that comes down to personal choices.. I would love to have a manual just because I built this car for HP and i will loose some of that through my auto drivetrain.. But im just gonna use what I have, again thats my personal choice.

I have about 5-600 dollars in my built tranny, that includes labor time.

Jordan, I didnt have the gears cryotreated, I couldnt find anybody to go in with me on that

that sucks because www.300below.com does cryo treating for a decent price.

how much power do you expect to handle with it, because 5-600 isnt bad

ive heard the auto takes quite a bit of abuse and does just fine...

another good thing i look at having an auto with a good boost/build is the reliability factor of it.

david-that 5-600, did that include the blue plates?

Wrench, thats where I was going to send my stuff,,, They wanted 128 lbs of goodies, that was the minimum order

Casey- Im hoping for at least 400whp

Brad, yup that includes the clutch plates.. The guy that did my tranny charged 200 for the complete rebuild.. 80 more for parts at his cost.

when i called a 6 months ago it was $75 for 20 lbs..... they must be slow right now and need 128 lbs to fill the machine

what good does the cryotreating really do anyways?

its just basically heat treating, yes?

Re: Yank 3000 stall converter

Really Wrench? dammn I would of jumped on that,, but yea 128 lbs, must of been slow for business.

Brad, its actually freezing the parts... check out www.300below.com and they give the definition of their process and what cryo treating actually does.

Yeah it may have been longer ago then 6 months... but i was looking into cryotreating the entire rotating assembly in my transmission, and it wouldnt have cost very much to do so i just got lazy LOL.

With the cobalt i have plans tho
