Hole in transmission (5speed)
Sunday, June 15, 2008 4:18 PM
My transmission had making a little noise for the last year but finally it started whining really loud the otherday.. drove fine, but then we checked the fluid and nothing was in it. Put some in there and it all poured out the front, so we took it out.

Theres a big hole in the case next to the differential

What should I do? Im looking for a new transmission.....

You sir, need a new trans. Something just exploded inside there and punched a hole in it.

That's the first time I've ever seen a F23 explode over the diff. You must have really done something bad to your trans.

well, I say if its been like that for over a year, whats the harm in just putting it back in and driving for another year... Just change the clutch and refinish the flywheel while its out...
