i was just wondering if there is any 6 speed manual out there that will bolt up or bolt up with some modification to a 99' z24 j body because i cant seem to find anything on this subject
well actually i am doing a swap to a 3800 v6 so ya but i said cavalier because u can use the same tranny on both so what about a 3800 will one bolt onto that?
ok well i dont have a 2.2 one but i guess my new question is is there a 6 seppd manual for a 2.2 ecotech/3800???
2.2 Eco yes, but not for the 3800... you don't seem to get it, the 2.2 Eco does NOT have the same bellhousing pattern as the 3.8, there is no 6 speed that just bolts up.
You cannot use an eco transmission on the 3800, even though it's a 2.2L it has a different bellhousing than the 2.2L OHV. Only the 2.2 OHV transmission bolts up to the 3.8L

"2002 Getrag F23 5-speed tranny "
Where does it say Z24 in there? Its a 2200 transmission.
how can u tell the diff?? because it is a z24 2.4L
damn ok well do u know any 6 speed that will bolt up to the 3800 because the auto it has sucks
ok but will that handle the extra torque because i do plan on doing some performance mods to the engine. i think the stock torque is somewhere in the region of 220 ft lbs i dunno...
MK7 is the 2.2 (non ecotec) trans i though MJ1 or something is the 2.4 isuzu not that is matters cuz Shifted is right about every thing else I am just bored and wanted to put that out there
The 2.2 trans should be cool with a 3800 motor i mean i know there are a few people runing quit a bit of power though that trans besides its not a matter of power its how much you beat on it I run a isuzu still in my 2.4 turbo and I am running a good bit of power and I have launched with drag slicks and its still holding not sure how much long but you get the point.

well if you wanted a G6 has a 3500 with a 6 speed so you could use that trans and it is the same belhousing

ummm
the auto trans in those is what gm racing is running...
So sucks = no
well its not that it sucks performance wise its just i hate automatics so it was kinda my bias but ya the only with the G6 is that well i bet the trannys are going to be hella expensive

they will cost alot, and nobody is oing to sell a header to someone who says "hella" lol
if you do decided on this i'd like to see how it goes. i plan on doing this someday if i decide to keep my cavalier, so i'd like to know what to do lol

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
darrell your in way over your head. i think you need to go back to the researching before you even attempt this
JBO since July 30, 2001
you will need tranny, shifter assembely, half shafts and prob mounts. look on grandamgt.com they put the g6 tranny behind there 3400 same bell housing so that will prob be your best place for more info. but it does sound like it might be over your head but idk. a little research goes a long way.
