What are the modifications needed to put a Muncie 282 in a 3rd gen Jbody??? I remember someone did it a couple of years ago, but I don't know how

I do realize that the HM282 has a similar case to the NVG550, but the HM282 has an internal slave cylinder. The NVG550 has an external slave cylinder similar to the current Getrags and Isuzu trannies.

rather have the ext slave.
a shift lever extension, and shim up the rear trans mount, (i did not, and it still works though)
easy swap, its just larger to cram in there.
what year is it? I thought my 92 was a HM.. but its not, its the first year NVG (better\larger diff) but still has a ext slave. (can we still say that?!)

The tranny is a out of a 89 Olds Calais. It just happened to be attached to the motor I am buying
I will use it if I can. I was not sure of the mount location either or how to convert it to a internal slave like the newer version. If is too much trouble, I don't mind selling it to someone and pick up the ebay tranny since it is new

Jason- don't buy the ebay trans. It is the euro version so the mounts are nowhere near being similar to our cars. I was burned on this by the seller. see me thread towards the top for pics explaining what I am talking about.
and while were at it dont use that 89 trans...not only is the gear ratio lower..but it only has ONE mount...your car uses 2, the new nvg has 2, try to find one of those if anything
