i bought an 1990 cav trans to use with my v6 swap but my the problem is the older tranny has a cable drivin speedo but the newer cav uses a vss will a 94 vss fit in the older space or am i SOL
The sensor coming off of the cable driven speedo will throw your speedo off by quite a lot. When trying to use an ECU programmed for the cable driven speedo on a trans with a newer style VSS my top speed was limited to about 20mph because the ECU thought I was going well over 100 and was doing the whole governor thing.
So yeah, you're screwed.
