okay well I took my motor out and put it back in and didnt pay attention (stupid) but the lines that go into the transmission that keep it cool I think that I have them reversed and so now its throwing the manufacture control transmission code is throwing and i read that it can be caused by overheating the transmission so I thought that could be the problem so if any one could tell me how to know which go where that would be helpful
Oh I forgot it a 97 2.2 cavalier 3 speed
top line on the trans to top line on the rad.

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
That's how they usually are.
I doubt that switching them would cause it to overheat anyway, all the cooler is is a brass (usually) tube that runs through the radiator side tank. It may run a few degrees warmer than intended because it's going though slightly warmer water on it's way out of the cooler, but I wouldn't expect that to cause a problem.
