why are some saying getrag came with Saturn atf fluid?
U wanna put in Syncromesh.
Syncromesh, even for the Getrag.
Syncromesh is similar in consistency to 5w30, but with better shear loading wear-protection properties.

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
Synchromesh in the Isuzu, my NVG 3500 takes the same fluid.
Getcrap takes ATF.

You do realize that 2001 and newer manual Js came with ATF form the factory and that GM recommends ATF when changed right?

how many quarts of syncromesh does the the 97 2.4 tranny take?
I usually put in 2 qts. No idea what my NVG 3500 takes though, Chris?

You're such an idiot. Why dont you educate yourself before making stupid ass comments?
Miss Mari wrote:BTW: you can get the Trany fluid at Napa, I called the GM dealership and he sent me there, 4$ at napa vs. 15$ at the dealership!
which one atf or syncro? its not GM brand though???
wantboost: what year is your car? has your trans been swapped?
think of it this way. if your trans is from 95-99, you have an isuzu and need synchromesh. get the pennzoil brand, since they're the ones who make it for gm anyway, and it'll be about 1/3 the price.
ONLY USE SYNCHROMESH IN THE ISUZU 5 SPEED.
it its an 00-05 transmission, its a getrag, and needs atf of some form, be it plain dex III, saturn atf, or the b&m trickshift mr. goodwrench posted.

So the Isuzu take 2qts of Syncromesh? I cant find a Fluid Cap anywhere!
jack the car up on the passenger side front, turn the wheels to the left, chock the rear wheels. look at the back of your transmission, and you'll see a lever-handle thing. lift it up, and there's the dipstick, and fill plug.
and yes, the isuzu takes 2 quarts of synchromesh.
