never heard of them but reading around they seem okay. where should i get one from?
Its an Exedy clutch. There is a good chance LUK made it, but that is not guaranteed. LUK makes the stock clutch for our cars and they hold up very well. I have one in my 98 and when I eventualy get fed up with this @!#$ty SPEC in my 02 I will put a LUK in it.
I'll get flamed...
but Skunk and I are both running a spec clutch with no problems...
I have a 3+
he has a 4

I have a SPEC 3 and cant wait to remove it. The damn thing is rattling as if the hub springs are loose. I would advise anyone to stay away from them based on the problems that I and many others are having.

I've got a spec 3/aluminum flywheel combo in the red cav with easily 20k on it and no problems at all
and I also got a spec 2/Aluminum flywheel combo in the 04LSS with 5k on it no a single problem
To all with spec;
Was it needed, even IF they were as good as they say.
Case in point,
Speedracers firts turbo (12.7's) set up was stock.
I was stock (13.7's 120K out lasted the trans) ........
I dont see, unless you have BIG power, that its needed.
And even then..... It FAILED to hold Fetters build.....
LOL
My LS7 Clutch for my LSX I am building says..............
LUK all over it....
Not SPEC,,, Wonder why?

I will have to get a pic of the spec stg3 clutch off brians old motor. Lets just say EVERY spring pocket was cracked. No more Spec clutches here. Dyno is this weekend so we will see how the bully holds up!!
spec blows chunks, i have a stage three, its the second one, the first one the spring hub blew and a spring caught on the flywheel, that @!#$ me up, now this one makes a clunking noise every time i start the car moving, and rattles like balls when im sittin still, STAY AWAY FROM SPEC
What the hell LOL
What happened to pretty much everyone swearing By the spec-2 fidanza combo?
Spec stage 2 sucks. Got it put in about a month ago and I would advise anyone not to buy it. Sure it works fine and grabs a lot better then stock. But the cons outweigh the pro's. Ex: Rattle on decel when in 5th gear. Clutch changes engagment points on it's own occasionally. Clutch sometimes feels very sticky. Makes a weird noise sometimes when hard downshifting into 3rd. Etc
If I had a choice I'd either go back to stock clutch or i'd try a LUK.

"Would a stock clutch work for me" I DONT KNOW...
I am just merely stating what I have...
I am not the end all be all answer guy.
You are the guys who have been tuning cavaliers this forever.
All I can say is I have been on this site & owned my car for just over a year, and I am as fast or faster than the most people on here
Would I say I make "big power" HELL NO! I only have a 16G.. but to run mid 12s with a daily driven (beat the @!#$ out of) cavalier. I think it speaks volume for not only this platform but for this forum.
I have over 15K mile on my spec!! Daily driven city miles. I routinely do double clutch second gear burnouts while rolling ( Yes, I'm an idiot)

Here is the weird thing... For the 95-99 cars they seem to be OK, as in No hunting peddle. (Although the flywheels still blow up) but for the 2K up... Hunting peddles.
If I had to narrow down to ONE bad thing about them it would be this.
My OE LUK Clutch out lasted my tranny (120K). The car was boosted and raced (1/8 mile) sense 30K.
So, as a synopsis, my opinion unless your above 400 HP, you should have no issues about the stock clutch (pending you know how to drive, with times such as yours, I would bet you do.)

If you like your stock stuff but would like an upgraded version there is a guy out this way you can mail your clutch and pressure plate too and they will build it. I just sent him mine they are taking my oem and turning into a stage III clutch and upgraded pressure plate for 240 plus shipping. He comes highly recommended.
Has anyone tried Competition clutch. I bought one and i'm about to install it in a couple days. I've searched around and I haven't seen anyone talking about it, maybe for a good reason. But if anyone wants to know about them, i'll post after the break in.
im with jmarks/sweetness gt and others that are running or want to run a bully clutch.
stock pedal feel, consistant engagement and a great group of guys to talk to about the clutch and options/suggestions
What stage of Bully are you running Scott?
Where did you purchase it?
Cost?
How about Centerforce as an option?
Centerforce....
Luk with pucks on the other side...
