I have a 2003 Cavalier w/ the Getrag. I had a weird noise coming from the trans so I tore it apart to check it out. My question is...is the clutch disc springs supposed to have play in them?? I am running an exedy oe replacement clutch.
No, they should be in there nice and firm with no play. That disc is junk.
My friend had one of those come out on him once and jam itself between the disc and the pressure plate and it was like having no clutch at all, had to rev match every shift to get it home and then found that spring jamed in there.
