When i shift into 2nd or 3rd somtimes and even 5th somtimes i can hear and feel like the car shifting into the gear roughly, its hard to explain but anyone experience this or know what i am trying to say? its not gears grinding but it still doesnt feel right. 98 sunfire 2200

If this is an Isuzu 5-speed (MK7), my daughters car lost the plastic locks that attach one of the cables at the tranny and the shifter, which left a lot of slop in it. The only thing holding the cable in place was the cable brackets. I went to the local hardware store and bought a pair of brass flange bushings (.25" I.D. .375" O.D. .375" long) and pressed them into the cable with superglue. I put a nylon bushing over the brass bushing to make up the space and used a spring clip to hold them in place. Worked so great I replaced mine on my 3800SC Sunfire.
