Has anyone else had this go out in there vehicle? Any noise references?
When I got my car out this spring I was getting a rattle when the car was not under load/engine breaking and at an idle in neutral with the clutch out. I got the main input shaft bearing replaced and it did become quieter but didn't fully go away.
Hmmmm.... It will only make the noise when the car is in gear and I let off the throttle. (engine braking) So I am assuming this is my problem them? Thanks Jollymore
From my understanding of what I was told, was that the main input shaft bearing rattles when the clutch is out and when it rattles with the clutch in it is the throw out bearing. This may not be true all the time but this was what I was told. I can't remember how much the bearing was exactly but I think it was around $50 canadian.
sounds like classic throw out bearing, had it on my s10
