Differences in the manual shifters...

So i bought a short shifter from a member on here for my 1997 2.2 sunfire, and i removed the console for it since i should arrive this week.I'm worried that it won't fit tho...the shifter in this write up looks different from mine.

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=338317&t=338317

the shifter in these pics has 4 bolts connecting the plastic to the metal base, and mine only has on in the front and one in the back of the shifter. Also the pin in the back looks different.

Could the 2.2 and the 2.4 have diff. in the shifters,i thought they used the same tranny? or could the 95-97's have a different one from the 98/99?

There where two shifters used that I know of in the '95-'99 cars, and you've seen both! Pulled a two bolt shifter out of a '96 to make a short throw out of and swapped it into my '99 that has the four bolt shifter. Have no idea if the B&M shifter is interchangeable between the two as I extended the '96 shifter below the ball to shorten the throw, but just looking at the riser plate for the B&M it's slotted all the way across instead of being two bolt or four bolt specific. I'd give it a try.
