Going with Mobil 1 just uncertain whether to get the synthetic or dexron?
THIS or
THIS
05 cavalier, 5 speed, 70k miles, trans fluid never been changed.
If its in REALLY GOOD SHAPE use the M-1..... DO NOT USE DEX-6.. bad bad bad for manual trannys.
IF it has "gear rattle" Trick Shift is Strongley advised.

heard from a few mechanics that synchromesh can mess up tranny's sometimes. I went with the mobil 1 synthetic last weekend. Didnt really notice any HUGE differences.
If using a 2000+ getrag manual I would not use synchromesh. ATF!

hahaha damn man.. you're good for that.
Dexron 3 is what GM says to run in the getrags.
Syncromesh is only for Isuzu trannys.

I did mine earlier this summer after having a sticky shifter while coming out of 5th gear. I used the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF and it cured all shifting issues I was having and made them soo much smoother. Mine had never been done in 60K miles. I plan on doing it every 15k miles now to keep everything running as well as she does now.
