Cobalt tranny similar to cavs?

Ok I would like to know if 2000+ cobalts use the same tranny as 2000+ cavs? I read a few places that say that both cars use the same engine I.E 2.2 ecotec. so would that mean they use the same tranny? Oh I forgot to mention Im talking about the manual transmissions. The reason I ask Is because I really want to upgrade my stock shifter to Ideally a twm shifter but they only offer a shifter for cobalt, and cobalt sc/ tc.

There is no 2000+ Cobalt. 2005 was the first model year.

While they are similar internally, the Cobalt trans uses a different mounting system, and will not interchange with the Cav.
