Now that link clearly shows that the Quaife locker diffy is applicable to 96-07 Chevrolet Cavalier's & Cobalts...
Last time ai checked there were at least three different five speed manual transmissions used in those cars for that duration...
The next step I see, is if we can establish if the Quaife diffy will in fact fit in the Getrag 282 (aka: Muncie HM282, or NVG-T550)...
I emailed Quaife a while back, and they told me that none of their differentials fit on our transmissions - but if that listed diffy fits in those different transmissions, there might be some truth to the interchangeability I've read in the past...
Now, is there any logic to this - or are GM manual FWD transmission diffy's indeed interchangeable??
helping jonny out
no no they are not all interchangeable i'm looking at a better setup right now and currently 3 trans missions with 3 different diffs but 2 are closer and with the proper shiming it may work but htis is for the 00+ getrag guys but i have to do the labour first to see if it all works
JBO since July 30, 2001
ok let me know how things turn out man i would app it
As far as I know the Quaife only fits the F23 Getrag.
It used to only be listed on the website under a European Car which shares the same tranny (I forget what the Make/Model is however).
Wicked diff tho, I love mine
wtf is a "diffy"
seriously.....

F35 is the Cobalt ss/sc tranny, which if im not mistaken has a Quaife LSD from the factory if you get that option.
The Quaife definitely fits a F23, since I have one installed in my tranny...lol

We have a lot of them on here, I can tell you that much.
Newt, I thought it was the F35, not the F23 that the Quaife fit.
