I finally got a short throw shifter thrown in my car. Problem is, I found that the plastic cup piece that the pivot ball of the shifter sits in had a crack in two places. I'm not talking about the snap down ring that holds it down.
Just wondering if some of you guys have seen the same thing. How did you fix it? GM part number from dealer?
I know of a couple 03-05 Cavs sitting around that I could get one off of, but they could be cracked too. So, any info would help.

Mine was not broek when I installed mnine years ago. Could be now, but I would not know.

Yes you would know. Put it in gear, then try to gently wiggle it. If it moves more than a half inch, the cup is broken.
You can even go so far as figuring out which side is broken by trying the wiggle in first and then fifth.

Where can you get this? Maybe a stronger cup???
