2.4L Twin Cam into Malibu?...

Well my 3100 in my Malibu blew, so I am considering but a LD9 in it because it offers more parts in the performance area, and I know it is compatible with the 4t40 transmission. If I were to get this engine, what all components of the donor car would I need to make it work correctly with the transmission?

Transmission is NOT compatible. Or more specifically the BELLHOUSING if different between the LD9 and 60 degree V6s. I'd consider the possibility of a 3400 if I was looking for more power. I'd do the LIM gasket on any 60 degree before putting in the car, and FWIW the pushrods DON"T have to come out to pull the LIM. Pushrods have to come out for the gasket to come out, but it's easier to do with the manifold off.

You would need the trans from the donor car as mentioned above, the mounts, and assuming gm did the malibu like the jbodies the entire engine harness and ecu, possibly the radiator, im sure some other things as well.

Depending on what year Malibu you have, it may be as easy as scoring youself a similar year Grand Am 2.4, tranny, and ECM/harness. You need the specific 4t40e that goes to the 2.4. However, I would second the 3400 swap. There are plenty of options to upgrade the 3x00 engine. Go to 60degreeV6.com and see what some if them are doing with the 3400. Swapping pistons from an iron head 3.4 will give you a good bump in compression, and wot-tech.com has almost unlimited cam grinds available. You could have a 3400 that would smoke the 2.4 for a lot less hassle.

Alrighty then, I think I will just get another 3100 or maybe I can take the 3400 out of my dads van and see how mad he gets when it's in my car. =] Haha j/k but thank you all. I shall come visit the forums in the future if I acquire an LD9 someday, see no point in hanging around since I will have a V6. =[
