In the midst of a long chat with my tuner, he suggest the F35 may or may not be a viable swap option over the F23... We did not know if the bell housing was the same or not, or whether it could be flanged to match the F23, but he said the rear trans mount is in the same location so only the front mount would need to be welded in to work. He also said there are more parts out there available to strengthen up the F35 than there are for the F23.
So has anyone ever thought about it, or researched it and know whether it would be a viable swap option?

Long time no talk to, but as to official business. I have done a bit of research on the topic, not extensively but...
I believe the answer is gonna depend on which motor you are trying to use with it. All ecotec blocks are geometrically the same so with that being said i went to Cobaltss.net to do the research on whether or not the F35 could be mated to a L61 equipped Cobalt...The answer is YES it has been done on that forum. So if you can handle the mounting issues, which you seem to have under wraps, then i dont see why you couldnt mate the F35 to an originally F23 equipped L61 J-Body. Although the LD9 has the same transmission casing externally it has a different bellhousing so logically they wouldnt work but theres room for error in my theory. U mind me askN, who r u taking ur car to? I noticed u said your tuner
