i have a 05 sunfir auto how much abbuse can they take what are the main weak pionts or it it a dont bother kinda thing ?

If you build it, it can take as much abuse as you can throw at it. Look at the thread that talks about rebuilding the 4T40E with IPT parts. There maybe 5 guys on here that have built there 4T40E's up. I am one of the small groups.

I run a turbo setup and a direct port nitrous system. Has not been on the road much but I doubt there is any problems going forward.

im one of the other ppl building my 4t40e i would recommend you putting at least some upgraded clutch packs and maybe modify your valve body for better line pressure, o and a torque converter helps too
