Mantapart Stage 3 clutch
Monday, April 12, 2010 7:13 PM
the car I just bought came with an uninstalled Mantapart stage 3 clutch. it isnt installed cause Mantapart sent the wrong pressure plate with the disc, and it took the original owner several TOBs to figure out what the issue was and decided he didnt wanna deal with Mantapart and their BS anymore.. so I was wondering if anyone knew if the stage 3 disc might work with the stock pressure plate and TOB?

use a micrometer and measure both discs. if they're the same size, there's no reason it wouldn't work.

I thought the issue was the flywheel.

Can't be the flywheel if the stock clutch works with the aftermarket flywheel. Problem lies with the pressure plate not hitting the TOB when bolted down to spec.

Been too long ago to remember what we did, or put on the car.

As long as the clutch disks are the same it shold work with stock pressure plate. Just need to get flywheel resurfaced.

the flywheel is in the car now... you're saying it needs to be resurfaced regardless?

I can visually compared a stock disc to the aftermarket one, but without the proper tools or know-how, I'm not gonna know for sure

If you swap out the Mantapart disc for the one currently in the car, yes the flywheel needs to be resurfaced.
