Big HP=Stock flywheel bolts no good. (pics inside)

Hey everyone this is just a heads up about the stock flywheel bolts. They are a torque to yeild bolt which should not be reused. But anyways I did a little research and found the ARP makes a flywheel bolt for the Saab 2.0. Exact same as ours. The package comes with eight of them. Obviously the L61 will only use 6 and the LSJ I believe uses all 8. I called Karo at allecotec.com or carcustoms.net and he hooked me up. They were cheap for one set so im sure if you email him (sales@allecotec.com) he can hook you up with some. A cheap way to make it a little safer. Here are the pics.

I have a good amount coming in for the Eco guys... I'll check and see if it will work on the LD9 or not since I have a few spare LD9 cranks sitting out back

Brandon,

I am using ARP # 254-2801 for my flywheel bolts and they work just fine. They are for a Ford Modular 4.6 & 5.4

I have to find the part numbers for the pressure plate bolts.

These are the same for the LN2 also... If you have an auto you can use the 254-2901's. I sheared all of mine while doing a highway pull. Nothing like sitting on the side of the highway for a few hours waiting on a flatbed....

you did good to start tearing it down. mine also sounded like a rod knock right before it blew. i was stupid and went out and beat the ever living piss out of it instead of tearing it apart tho LOL

when mine happened it only had 151.4whp and 149.9wtq so "big HP" really isnt needed to sheer them

well it happen at the end of last summer... thought it was a rod knock so i shut it off pulled over then called my folks and got it towed to storage and figured id deal with it this summer, got it home took the oil pan off everything is perfect then i just randomly tried to move my flywheel and it did move without the crank, looked and my dad and he's like well lets start pulling the trans, but rain has been holding us back (no garage and its suppose to rain the whole week/weekend comming....FML).

well got the trans out! not as bad as i thought, nothing was broken but all 6 bolts were backed off, not to sure what happen here, i followed the torque specs and sequence and yes i put lock tight, maybe just to many hard hits from the clutch who knows....getting some arp ones and re installing.
