Ok my friend has a 2000 2.2 ohv with the awesome ass 3 speed transmission. He drives quite a distance to work and back and gets pretty bad gas mileage beacause the 3 speed. Anyone know what's invoved with swapping to the 4 speed tranny? I know you would have to swap ECM and wireharness but what else? Thanks guys.
4 speed axles, shifter cables, shifter, instrument cluster, and think console. mounts are same , flexplate same
I wouldn't imagine that the instrument cluster would be different. His is a 2k so it doesn't have the gear display on it. But I have one from a 05 I want to put in it since it has a tach and his doesn't. But thx for the reply. So the mounts are the same? How about torque converter?
I would get the 4t40e torque convertor because its electrionlly controlled. i dont think convertor are same
