I believe that is correct.
Where are you buying your transmission from? They should not need to know the RPO code. Almost every transmission that I have seen for sale is listed as "2000 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L Manual Transmission," for example.
when I went to the parts store for a clutch and told them it was a z24 2.4 they still asked mj1 or mk7!
