if you have the skills to be able to do this, you shouldn't have to ask if you can or how

Only if its top-mounted though.
Any other way and the sunroof fluid reservoir gets in the way.

Make sure you have extra blinker fluid.

Wow, I didn't even need to read the posts to this question and I knew what was going to show up haha. So for curiosity I checked his profile, only joined 6 days ago. So my advice is to use the search button. I'm sure you'll find some similar type of questions with the answers that your looking for. Just for example (which would be found in a few posts I have read on this site): it would be extremely expensive or you would do the work yourself but seeing your asking such a broad question it appears you don't really know how to do a swap let alone if it will work (correct me if I'm wrong though). Anyways, if you want an evo driveline (since the transmission alone won't make it AWD) in a sunfire my advice is to sell the sunfire and buy an evo, it would be much cheaper and more realistic. As for the first response with the flame suit I would definately put that on.

that is a link to a build thread of a Honda Civic body on a Subaru WRX chassis. It drives fine and the project is finished.

However he did not do exactly what you are asking and probably didn't do so for good reason. It's expensive and not worth it unless you have great fabrication and engineering skills, in which case you wouldn't be asking this question on here.

Moral of the story: People who have to ask if an Evo drivetrain can fit in a J-body will most likely never own an AWD J-body.

Be happy with FWD or go by an Evo. I vote on buying an Evo.

Correct, it is the Cibaru! And it's very cool.

http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2530143

this is another cool build of a Honda Beat ( a two seater, mid engine, Kei car from Japan that began production in 1991 in Japan). It has a Hayabusa engine in it and also is completed and driven on the road.

and this is a build thread of a 1996 Civic EK hatch with a Corvette LS1 complete drivetrain and interior. Project is complete and is also driven on the road.

all this thread for a simple yes or no answer..what could have been said is "No,not with out extreme fabrication and modification"

id like to see the LS1 civic vs the STI powered civic in a drag race

thanks for all the feedback but in all reality i dont need a bunch of people talking crap i am here to learn if you dont want to help dont say anything i want a sunfire that is awd i dont want an evo. i have no clue how to do a engine or tranny swap that is why i asked
Re: Evo AWD setup into Sunfire

if you do not know how to do an engine or tranny swap then this project is out of your realm unless you have stacks of money to throw away...

which I am assuming you don't as you are on a j-body forum. My suggestion would be to move onto a more reasonable project. Not trying to mean, I am just being realistic.

If this project could be done for a reasonable cost, it would have already been done.

These are both very different cars. Anything is possible but typically the further away you get from compatible parts the closer you get to heavily modifying your current ride, at that point considerations need to be made for structural integrity and the ability of the original ride to support the modifications . If youre very interested and have the resources i would suggest start taking measurements to see how the wheelbase compares, and the space needed for the new components. There will likely be interior changes and reinforcements in the rear end. Good luck with the project, look forward to hearing about it, either way you decide to go with it.

ok i will help you out, it is possible to do the swap, but it will take tons of custom work and one off pieces, and honestly ask yourself is it worth it, if you say yes then do it.......custom mounts will have to be made for motor transmission and transfer case, custom axles and driveshafts, custom rearend with custom mounts to bolt cavalier suspension to, then comes the wiring you would have to do a custom wiring harness and more than likely a stand alone, custom gauges, and custom fuel system.....its going to take alot of money and alot of fabrication but its quite possible.....

I have a solution.
I can get you a gsx that i will trade you for the sunfire. you can keep the pontiac logos and steering wheel so it feels custom
