Clutch pedal not returning.
Saturday, October 16, 2010 7:53 PM
My pedal does not want to come back up. When I have my gf push the pedal, I have fluid pissing out of a hose.

The hose is listed in this as number 17, but they want 185 dollars for it. Does anyone know the name of this, and if I can get it for cheaper?

Not sure about the name, but those guys look like they want a serious premium for parts.

Have you called the dealer about the part? Print out that diagram and bring it to the dealership.

I would never have imagined the dealer would be cheaper, but I will bring them the printout and see what they say.

Try rockauto.com or advanced... That's look like an ecotec tranny, and i just changed a clutch, pp, slave, master and the line on one at work... We got the master slave and line as one unit and I'm pretty sure it didn't cost us 185.

None of the big chain auto parts stores seem to have them.

Yes its an ecotec with the Gertrag? transmission.

I might try to go to a junkyard and pull it off. Any special tools?

10mm, small screwdriver to remove the clips.. 10 inch extension or so.. nothing special really.

I went to the stealership and ordered it. 105, not bad actually.

I hope I can pull this off without bleeding the system.

Glad you found it cheaper.

Don't count on not having to bleed. Thats a hydraulic line. Meaning as soon as you open up the system, you have air in it.

I have never bled a clutch before. Is it a two man job like brakes?

Well, new hose is in. No wonder the old one failed, its rubbing on all sorts of @!#$. They could not have routed it any better?

I had to bleed the brakes, what a royal PITA by yourself, I slid my seat all the way forward, pumped the pedal up, jammed my jack handle in between the seat and the pedal, then cracked the bleeder valve. And repeat.

I still dont like the way it comes up, might need a smidge more bleeding. But it will do for now.
