I have a 97 z24 and i have the trans out for various reasons has anybody put a trans from a 2.2 in and what would be the benifits or difference both 5 speeds thanks.

The bolt pattern to the block is different. You would have to transfer parts from case to case. I have heard that keeping the 3.94 final drive from the 2.4 and using the 1-4 gears from the 2.2 will put it in the power band differently. Some like it.
