Flywheel & Pressure Plate Bolts

Are any of these reusable, or are they torque to yield? They are 8 bucks a pop from the dealership, and 80 dollars total for all from GM Parts Direct...
I tried a few parts stores around here, but can't find any in a grade 8.
Any Ideas?

I PM'ed you about my leftover ARP flywheel bolts. As far as the pressure plate bolts, I would buy new, since from my unfortunate experience, they failed after a couple times of re-use. You could always do what I did and have your flywheel machined for larger 3/8'X24 grade 8 socket head cap bolts.

And I machined my flywheel for larger bolts In a common thread, since the pressure plate bolts are an oddball, M7X1.0

Dang, wish there was somewhere else. 8 bucks a piece for pressure plate bolts. Can't just reuse and throw some loctite on there?

I suppose you could re-use them once. I re-used mine like 4 or 5 times, that was my problem .

I know there is a thread somewhere with the part number for Ecotec ARP flywheel bolts. I have ARP flywheel and pressure plate bolts, but that is for the quad/LD9

Did you order them directly from ARP or Karo? Do you have the part #'s?

Flywheel bolts: 254-2801 ( Ford Modular 4.6/5.4 flywheel )

Pressure plate bolts: 108-2201 ( I think from a honda )

ARP flywheel bolt thread

Isn't the torque on the pressure plate bolts like 18 ft-lbs??

I think GM purposely calls everything "torque to yield" so people have to go out and buy new bolts all the time, only to find out they are some rediculous price.

When I put my new trans in 2 summers ago I removed the pressure plate to see what kind of condition my clutch was in and I reused the bolts, 15,000mi and 250 drag passes later I don't have any issues, maybe I got lucky??

That being said, my friend can get me any bolt, in any grade, in socket or allen head for free tho, so I'm changing every bolt I remove over when I build my motor this spring.

Never again GM will you bone me on your $10 bolts!
