I recently had a new transmission put in by a dealer in January. In the past 2 weeks, the clutch has slowly been loosing pressure. It still works, but i have to pump it a couple times before i start the car. today, i pumped it, started to drive, went to shift and no pressure.... pump,pump,pump, and i have pressure to shift...... i have no idea what it could be....
the reservoir is not leaking, i thought that was it first but it was dry, until i opened it.....
Any thoughts?????
sounds like the slave cylinder failing. id check and see what your warranty is on it... otherwise be looking at a new slave.
..... kk.... so if i have to replace the slave, might as well get the master.............

could do slave only... but its in the trans.
1; Master fluid level?
Are you loosing fluid? Yes? at slave? replace slave
No? Then it would be you Master that is defective and bleeding by.
2; What year? Izuzu or Getrag?
I find the Izuzu Masters tend to go bad after the system has been opened (new trans or clutch) then when you bleed it, the piston travels in a drier state hurting the seals.
Lately, I prepare customers for the possibility of having to replace master after a clutch/slave or trans replacement.

As for fluid levels. Added fluid last weekend and is still good.

well i will check for air tonight, called my mechanic and thats what he suggested. he says that the slave appeared to be fine (as well as the master).....

never mind that post..... could someone get me a pic of where that bleeder screw is...... i cant find it for ****........... got me and a buddy to do it tomorrow and i just need to know where it is.........

found it.... bled them and now i have a solid clutch..... dont even have to go half way to have have the clutch engage.....
Have seen that happen before when the master was bad. Bleeding the clutch worked for a while, but then it started to lose pressure again. Hopefully it's because they didn't bleed the clutch when re-assembling, but it's something to keep an eye on.
