Can you use a Camaro Clutch Plate ?

Has anyone used a Camaro Pressure Plate and Clutch with the 1" -14 spline insert on the Getrag swap ? Or have any suggestions ?

I ran the Spec Stage III Clutch Assembly for the Isuzu MK7 behind the SC3800, but I want a bigger clutch setup when I get the Getrag in.

The older V-6 Camaro's are the only ones that I've found that have the 14T X1'' spline setup. Physically, the disc will slide onto the input shaft, but you've gotta make sure the disc isn't too big to fit properly on the flywheel mating surface.

I was researching this and I know that the Camaro's 9 1/8'' disc was too big to fit on my stock flywheel mating surface in my Eco 2005 Sunflower, and the 2.2 LN2 flywheel (which I assume that you are using) actually has a SMALER mating area than the Eco equipped Getrags. The LD9 cars use the same specs as the Ecotec cars when it comes to clutch dimensions. 8 7/8 X 14T X 1'' spline hub. Maybe you could machine the flywheel to make it fit. But then you have to consider the pressure plate, and how it'll bolt up to the flywheel. Every design is different and incompatible.

I discovered (and am using, sucessfully) an ACT clutch disc designed for the 1995-1999 Isuzu LD9 equipped cars. its ACT # 6224222. Ceramic 6-puck sprung clutch disc.

I ran a larger bully clutch in my sunfire, used a custom aluminum flywheel for the swap. I don't know exact size of the clutch but it was over 10", grabbed very well. I am done with that setup though because the flywheel bolts either sheered off or came loose 3 times last year, all within 4000 miles... once at the track, wasn't fun. Bully told me my setup was based off a 3100, thats all the info they gave me.

After reading Roofy's thread with the clutch disc info, I decided to give it a shot and used that with my spec aluminum fly and stg 2 pressure plate, all is holding up well.

Did it get rid of the funky spec clutch engagement issue?
