im looking into changing my tranny fluid in my 03 sunfire with the f23 getrag soon, just looking for some opinions on which kind of fluid i should get?
i use GM Syncromesh... but thats just me.
Dexron 3 ATF is the fluid that GM recommends.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
Mobil 1 synthetic ATF, just put that in mine
Mobil 1 ATF meets Dexron 3 standards.

Only in the isuzu IIRC.
nope, the engine oil is a honda thing. isuzu tranny=synchromesh.

5W30 works in the Isuzu. Just depends on the year, at some point GM specified syncromesh instead of 5w30. Kinda like how with all the auto's they specify Dexron VI now.
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
I've never tried 5w-30, but I have run Mobil1 90W and my Isuzu HATED it... I was on my way home with some synchromesh to swap it out that night and my input shaft literally fell apart inside the tranny.
I'm just going to stick with synchromesh from now on.

Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
