I have a 3 speed in a 96 that has some leaking seals and will need to be rebuilt/replaced soon.

I am thinking now would be a good time to upgrade to the 4t40e

In addition to transmission, wiring harness, axles, shifter assembly with cable....

Would I need the PCM?

This would be a plus, because I would like to upgrade to the 97 computer to be able to use hp tuners.


Any interchange info you can give on the tranny or computer would be appreciated.

I was thinking about doing the same thing in my 2000 cavalier to improve my mpg.. what do i all need to have to do this swap????
