Axle Debate - 3t40 >< 4t40

I always thought they were different.

Some are telling me they are the same?

I even check online listings and they same they are different? (as have others)

lists the 3 speed with left and right axles, two different numbers. The 4 speed list one axle number that fits either side and is different from the 3 speed's numbers.

So who is correct? lol

Sounds like the 3 speed may have the manual axles, one long, one short, and the 4 speed has equal length axles. But I'm not sure, I don't have an auto....

you are correct!

BUT, at the same time, you're not. the splines are different between the 2 set ups.
