I have a 2003 Cavalier with the Getrag F23 and I was wondering how do you remove the shift cables. My haynes manual tells me to pry them off but doesnt show me any pictures or where to pry. Last thing I want to do is break a cable lol.

On the transmission side? Yeah, just stick a big screw driver between the shift arm the the shift cable. A swift hit to the screwdriver should pop the cable right off. If it's inside the car, there are these white plastic clips you unsnap and the cable pops off the shifter.
