So I was under my car to unplug my wiper wash pump's power cable and I look over and I see my transmission...
Oh crap.

Looks more like motor oil.
Im going with a rear main?
Or possibly the crappy half ring rubber gasket on the oil pan, if it s 2200, 2.2?

Yeah, it's motor oil. I have a leaky head gasket I need to repair, but I was referring to the gaping hole in the bottom of my transmission lmao.
The oil is of course not normal. Seeing that part of you flywheel is normal though. You can see the flywheel auto j-bodys. There's no fluid in that section of the engine/tranny. Theres just a small plastic splash shield that normally covers that entire gap. Either get a new splash shield (they are held on by 2 10mm bold I believe) or cover the hole with something else to stop crap from getting in there. No worrys though,.
12.6 @ 114.6 MPH
there is a window on the bottom of every jbody as far as I know, my 98 2.2L rally sport-auto had it, my 95Z24 5speed had it, my 98Z24 5 speed has it, my 2001 2.2L coupe auto had it, there is part of it that is covered by a black plastic piece, yes 2 small bolts hold it on but there is a hole always there, its for checking the flywheel as well as ventilation
Well that's good. I'm just glad it's nothing terrible lol.
