Maybe someone here can fill me in on this.
I've got a 97 cavalier, 2.2, auto
The dash says PRND21, It is worn off by the shifter, but i assume it says the same.
So my car is a 3 speed. I havent had the car very long, but I just recently noticed that I feel it shift 3 times from a stop. not 2.
Do these cars maybe have a lock up torque converter, and thats what I'm feeling? Or has the trans been replaced with a 4 speed?
My dad rode with me today (he's been working on cars his entire life) and he agrees that you definitely feel it 3 times instead of 2.
Anyone have any input?
Ok.. I think this one is easy... Start in Park, then count how many clicks you have until you can't pull back any more. PRND21 is 5 clicks. PRND321 is 6 clicks. Hope this helps.
To turbocharge, or not to uh, uh..... eh, that last part don't matter.
