The airless tires are old. They were first announce last year sometime. The hubless wheel on the other hand, that's a first for me.

Hubless isn't new at all, I remember sometime in the early 90's there was a porsche engineer who made some blue car with all 4 wheels hubless. Its some french guy who has the patent though. Dominique Mottas, he owns some oil company. Makes some pretty crazy stuff though.

well this is all new to me, and I think it's...I dunno, different, wierd, neat...many words to describe.
Those are ugly as hell, but still pretty cool in functionality. Probably get some godly milage on 'em. though... it'd suck when it comes time to replace 'em
