Im looking into getting 18's for my z24 and i dont know whats the widest tire i can put on them some people say that a 225/40zr18 is the widest but my friend told me i could go up to a 235/40ZR18 but i dont know if that will rub. does anyone know from experience?
I have 235s on my stock ls sport wheels and they dont rub. Cant remember the sidewall ratio but with 16" wheels its no prob. I would say as long as the backspacing/offset on your wheels is right you will be fine

Gonna need as much rubber on the ground as possible after this swap
ok well i think for now im going to get some 235/50R16 for the stock rims because i have a few other more important expenses that i have to take care of alot sooner then that. but thnx for the help
That tire is too big for the stock wheel, its rated at 6.5-8.5's. Stock is 6"s, not to mention thats it's a half inch taller.

I wanted 225/45/r17 to keep my speedo the same but my tire place didnt stock them so instead i got 235 40r17 and they dont rub. He told me as long as you go up in the 1st and down in the second you should be fine. My speedo is only 1% off so i dont really care. either way $120 per tire.
my buddy bagdfire has 22"s on his sunfire
I have 225/45/17in the front and 235/45/17 rear and she rides like a dream!

Sure, its May 3rd. Your welcome
I'm running 245/40/17s on 17x8 with a +35 offset. Fenders needed a roll and pull to prevent rubbing
225/40/18 on Katana 5KR's all around, no rubbing and Im on Tein S springs in the front, Eibach Sportlines in the rear.
and holy post resurrection batman!

I pulled some 235/55/16s off an S10 and bolted them right up to my stock 99 4door cavy. No rubbing at all.
I have 235/40/18's on my fire. And have a extra set of 5 available for sale.
Now that my fenders are folled i'm going for 245 s in the rear and stay with 225 s up front
