We have given our son our 89z and he would love to put the effort and time into completely fixing it up. The problem is our stock wheels are horrible. They have alot of brake dust build up and there is a yellowish film that seems to coming off of them. I have tried to remove the brake dust many ways over the years with limited success. How can we remove the dust and the yellow film to restore these rims?? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

You might try some detail shops or custom shops, they might be able to clean them up. If you're completely set on keeping them and those options don't work, you might call around to some different places that do chrome or something like that and have them dipped. They usually have chemicals that can take all that stuff off because before chroming the wheels have to be completely clean. Media blasting might work, too but I don't know if it's safe for the wheel.
