I have an 04 with the 16" machined face LS Sport rims (check my Cardomain page to see them if you need to). Are those wheels clearcoated?

I want to polish the machined face up to a near chrome shine. However, i don't know/can't tell if they are cleared or not.

Also, what would be the easiest/best way to polish these things? Will I need to just go see my polishing guy, spend a few bucks and save some hassle, or can i do it myself?

to check if cleared you can do one of two things. get a piece of fine grit sandpaper 2000-3000 and find a small spot to rub on the wheel. if it comes off with a white powder you have clear coat. or get a good wheel polish and just polish a small area and look for improvement in the shine. if it shines really nice, you don't. more than likely they are cleared though.
