I'm about to purchase a set of 17" TSW Apex's,. but I want to order the tires seperatly because I dont want to get the cheap ones that come in a package. The rims are coming from "thewheelconnection.com", but the tires I want are coming from "disounttiredirect.com". Disounttire doesn't carry the Apex's either. Now, I know that if you get a rim/tire package from discounttire, they have a package of lugs and other nessisitys for the new rims. What do I need to order since I'm doing it this way? Do I need new valve stems too? Sorry, but I know NOTHING about rims/tires. Thanks.
the place that installs the tires should easily be able to provide you with valves.
you dont NEED lug nuts, you can use your original in most cases, unless the hole for the lugs is exteremly tiny (pretty rare occurance) the only reason to get new nuts is for some chrome ones or to install a lock nut. the factory nuts will work, but could look bad.
the place you are getting the tires installed at should have valves and might charge you. talk to them first if they charge for valves. if you want a certain type of valve, racing style vavles for example that bolt into the rim or chrome sleved ones, they may not have them. the rims may even come with these already on them.
make sure you trust the place that is installing them. a "Euro" or touchless tire mounter is the best machine to install low profile wheels on aftermarket rims. also ask if they have a pin plate for when they balance the wheels, it helps give a smoother more accurate to the car balance, especially if they are a universal aftermarket.
a computer diagnostic balancer is always the best kind for balancing wheels like this, it will be able to troubleshoot alot of problems if they have any.
most importantly, TRUST YOUR INSTALLER. if you dnot trust them or the shop, go somewhere else!

Thanks for the quick responce. I'll be buying the tires and having them installed on the rims at discount tire, which, at least in New Mexico, is a pretty reputable business. The only reason I'm buying the rims from another business is thats the only place I could find that carries them. I was confused because in another post someone was saying something about a hub plate or something, but anyway, thanks again.
they may have been thinking of the pin plate. i believe ive heard it being called that before. basically, a pin plate simulates the wheel bolts of the car, so it will give it a more accurate balance.
i work in a tire shop, if anyone has questions, just ask away.

that is incorrect. almost ANY aftermarket wheel you buy will require tuner lugs. i cant say ive ever seen any rim(other than stock) fit the stock lugs, im sure there may be a few that do, but 99 times out of 100, you will need tuner lugs. but i agree with the other info. definately dont try and take em to like a pepboys, or some crappy place. trust the people who are mounting them, or you will be very dissappointed in the end when they damage something

correct, you need 12mm x 1.5mm lugs. dont go cheap because you'll regret cheap lugs (atleast i did). i picked up a set of mcgard spline drive lugs in black and i couldnt be happier w/ these lugs. i love them
Thanks for all the feedback. I'll definatly be getting some tuner lugs,and I do trust the installers. So all I need is the rims, the tires, valves, and the tuner lugs?
