Well, i really hate to call it a fad. I think they look great. I am just wondering why everyone now is wanting black wheels, its like it exploded. I work at Discount Tire and hell, alot of the wheels we put on are now black. I think its a great "trend", cause hell they look great, well on most applications with a nice paint job. All those sporting the black. Sorry just had to get that out.

that being said, I like black/darker wheels for 2 reasons: 1-, they look "sporty", and a lot of them are lighter than say, steel (silver) or polished (chrome) wheels...like they belong on a sport compact..and 2, they hide brake dust and dirt a lot better.
...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.
I'm looking at getting matte black rims for my car. its' the GM bright red, and I think with red brake calipers, it'll look really good.

yup yup....lol
i am even powder coating the inside of my new used ones bronze
I kinda like my Gram Lights. They're bronze and even with the factory purple paint on a RS, it still looks really good.
Im an alloy colored guy, does that count :p.?

The stock wheels like the ones you have are actually decent for factory. I found some on E-Bay for like $100 each. I'm giving serious thought to getting a set so I can have decent tires for every day driving. My Advans are getting a lot of use being driven daily and they're not meant for that kind of use.
My black wheels look stellar with my orange ride

ive been thinking of doing the same....
althought i love the look of dark wheels
thats why mine are a dark dark bronze. best of both worlds
I guess I feel the same way as a lot of the guys above...that black wheels are just "sportier" somehow.
I LOVED the look of my R-Techs, especially when they were rolling. They also had that "bling" factor. But I think I made the right choice this summer--especially in achieving a more well-rounded total appearance.
