well my friend hooked me up a while ago with some wheels 4 free. they have a polished rim and no center caps. the problem with them is that my friend painted them black and he didnt really do a good job. i dont want 2 take it 2 a shop and have them refinish them since its out of my budget. what are some steps i can take to repaint them?? should i use paint thinner to remove the current paint?? what type of paint should i use to repaint them?? thanks in advance guys.

Get them powdercoated... any kind of paint... regular or even car paint won't hold up well on wheels

If you do paint them make sure you use the epoxy ceramic type paints that are available.
These paints are used for sea going vessels and have a ocean life of 50 years. TRANSLATION: it will hold up just fine on a rim. paint them and then bake them and your done.

Powdercoating is not paint... and you need an oven (not a household oven) to bake it in... it's something you have to take somewhere to have done, unless you happen to know someone with a powdercoating setup and a powdercoating baking oven...

Powdercoating is VERY durable, and ideal for things like rims, engine blocks... all kinds of stuff.

Thats already lowered ? Somethings odd there. Either as angel said powder coat or epoxy paint like I said. Both do however need to be baked but once done its DONE.
As for centers ? I hae no idea what brand they are, why not just ask the guy you got them from ? And if they're for oour car they shouldn't "stick out " that means they are
NOT for our car's.
