Just got a set of rims that are 16 inchers. Practically free, polished aluminum that needed some work, so why not. all polished up look good but the rubber on them, well 2 of them needs to be replaced. The tires are 205/55 R16. Was thinking about going with the bigger tire, but only 2 tirs need to be replaced other 2 are still pretty good. Found a good deal on some Dunlop A2's that are 225/50 R16 but only 2, guess thats why. Is it a big deal to put to have the front tires bigger and the rear smaller or vice versa until I need to get new tires to replace the smaller ones? Any issues or just might look stupid?
Keep them all one size. Get 205/55/16 or 225/50/16's, don't mix them.

I have mixed tires and have no problems. if you like having a lil bit fatter tire in the back go for it. I have no problems with mine like I said. It's all personal preference.

as long as the front has the same size and the back has the same size
dont have a different size on each side (ie. 225's on back and 205's on front not 225's on driver side and 205's on passenger side)
if their that cheap just buy all 4
your computer is going to have a nervous break down!
our vehicles are equiped with 4 wheel ABS, which is an extremely percise system. mixing tire sizes is high not recomended by any reputable tire manufacturer, though not always followed by installers.
for the love of your car, dont do this!
and why the hell would u want a bigger tire on the rear of a FWD car anyways?!?!
Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
205-55-16 and 225-50-16 are the same height. shouldnt even bother the abs system. the only difference is about a 1" in tread width.

It won't affest the ABS at all as long as they're the same rolling diameter. But running two different sizes, ESPECIALLY on a FWD car, is stupid.
Just stick with the 205's and save your pennies to get all 225's.

so youre saying that people who drive on donuts after their tire pops is totally unsafe and @!#$ up your cars computer? i dont think so.....
It won't affect the abs system, I just think it cheap and stupid on a fwd. On my camaro I ran two different sizes but on a rwd normally the wider drive tires are needed for a couple reasons. A lot of rwd cars come that way from the factory, To my knowledge I know of zero fwd cars like that.

go with the 225s on the rear. unless your new rims have a different offset you probably have the rear tires sucked in a little from the fender which doesnt look very good either.

if that was the case, then they wouldnt put donuts in cars, they would all come with full size spares.....
