My Wheelmax Experience.
Tuesday, March 07, 2006 9:08 AM
Well guys, I'm not really too active here on the boards, but I know a couple of you. Last month, I purchased some wheels (My topic is somewhere in the photos and media section). Needless to say, One wheel was bad. The finish cracked so I contacted Wheelmax.

I purchased the wheels on Feb 3rd, recieved all wheels Feb 8th. Contacted them on Feb 14th about the wheel, Tracy at extention 1006 filed the report, sent out UPS to pick up my rim, and said my replacement would be shipped out as soon as UPS picked it up. I would have to call them.

I did exactly that, called them, they said ok and they'll ship it out.

I waited 4 days, called for a tracking #, no rim. No tracking #. They said it hasn't been shipped yet because they are relocating their facilities. I told them cool, fine, I can wiat. No biggie. I have my car sittin on 3 18's and a 16 right now in the apt parking lot.

So Feb 19th, my wheel is delivered to them. I tracked it via UPS.

Call them again, still the moving excuse. whatever, I wait.

Needless to say, I still dont' have a rim. Same excuse, "We're not sure why it has been sent out yet and we'll talk to a manager" I'm having somebody call me back today or I'm calling again and raising hell. It's been a month since I purchased my wheels and I had all 4 on for 1 day, 1 stinkin day. The other ones are gonna get worn before.

I'm pissed, just my rant. Business gets 2 thumbs down in my book.

Sorry for the rant, just warning people who purchase from them...

You're driving around with three 18's and a 16?

wow, thanks. good to know. im buying rims(hopefully today if i decide on a set, lol) and i was looking there.

i must say, the few times ive called them, they always give me an attitude about wanting to know the offset of the rim, and most times they were wrong anyways. not great customer service by any means

my brother had a really bad experience too. ended up having to sue them. i wouldn't buy from them.

and on a side note...riding on 3 18's and 1 16" rim is going to screw up your alignment and make your tires wear unevenly.

GO PATS!!!

The diameter is identical between the 16" w/ tire and the 18" w/ tire. The car is driven to work daily, a 1 mile drive at most. We cruise my girl's Civic mostly, my car just sits. I think it has a 1/2 tank of gas in it now, I filled up on Feb 3rd.

Apparently after a few phone calls today, I have a $100 some credit going to be refunded to me, and I was told to contact Tony at extention 1058, the general manager. I did leave a message because, of course, nobody answered.

I'm going outta town on the 18th, and if my rim isn't here by then I want a full refund. They said they're waiting for my rim to be shipped overseas... funny how I was told I was going to get it right away and it's almost a month later.

Yea... i could never get a straight answer out of any of those asshats there. So i took my business elsehweres and went to summit where i got my 5 wheels shipped to my door for 759.. no rubber but nice set of Motegi DPK's in 18"s... When mine arrived 2 were messed thanks to UPS, i contacted summit not 5 min later and filled the complaint. I got the first set of wheels on a tuesday. The said UPS would be here to pick the damaged ones up, i had the 2 new replacements at my door 2 days later on friday. While the damaged ones still sit at my house. Still no UPS... i contacted summit yesterday and they said they will be there eventually and wouldn't charge my CC for not having them back within 30 days since they arrived damaged.. So Summit in my book is A +++ ... excellent customer service!

Update:

Called in about 5 minutes ago, spoke to, guess who? Tracy! The original person I called on the first call. She said that she had my paperwork in front of her already and she just came back from the warehouse talking to manager. I asked to talk to him, she said he wasn't available.

Apparently they're trying to get my rim sent out today, and they're not waiting for it to be shipped from overseas. I hate customer service, and I work for XM. I know all the tricks n stuff. Hell, I do inbound CS.

ah well, I'll keep you guys updated.

Another update... my girlfriend called 2 days ago too, I completely forgot. She b!tched them out hardcore, and the girl on the end got a little scared.

I got a phone call yesterday from them, Carmen, and they have my wheel packaged up and it should be shipping out today. I'm awaiting a phone call from her or Tracy today with my tracking #. If I don't hear my phone ring in 30 mins, I'm calling. They close at 6 I believe, eastern time and it's 5 est right now. 30 mins!.

Keep ya'll posted.

Oh, good luck Daniel, hopefully nothing goes wrong with your order bro.

thats why i never ever order anything on-line. i go down to tamaqua advance auto parts and order everything out of a catalog. can u say overnight delivery? hehe and a lil cheaper too.last time i ordered something on-line, it was off of ebay.the seller was from ohio. well i waited 2 months and i never received what i ordered. so i got pissed and i drove to ohio to the guys house. turns out he sold the product and never intended to refund me, but i left there w/ the full purchase price. cash. it's amazing what grabbing someone by the neck and pulling them off of they're own porch will do. i'm sure u feel like doing that to someone at wheelmax.

People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......

Got my tracking #, wheel is scheduled to be here Tuesday, but UPS is pretty fast. Last time it was scheduled for a date, UPS brought it sooner. We'll see what happens! My homeboy is gonna hook me up w/ free mounting and balancing, and valve stem and everything at discount tire, just gotta call him.

No credit though bah, that sucks.

dam dude, its liek ahit or miss with this company. My girl found some rims she liked from there i was thinking about ordering for her.

Re: My Wheelmax Experience.

Yea, well after 3 days of trying to get ahold of them because i didn't really believe that girl knew what she was talking about. I talked to another person who said they would find out what happened, but never called me back. So the next day i talked to a new person who said they would ship me out another rim. So it should be getting shipped out today or tomorrow, and i will call them again to make sure. They blamed fed ex and said they lost the rim. So i guess if you order from these guys and something is wrong you REALLY have to keep on them. their customer service sucks. Just depends if you get someone good.

I may have to go with them, simply because i cannot find the wheel anywhere else. hopefully someone has had an ok experience with them. thanks for any experiences you can share.

do you have any suggestions of similiar looking and priced wheels? I'm leaning more towards a package, so i can just mount them up when the come in. thanks for any impout you guys have

Re: My Wheelmax Experience.

This may seem like a dumb question, but with my package i recieved the wheels with the tires mounted on already. Do I need something extra to put the wheels on? Or do i just take the old ones off. I Don't know if you need something else for after market wheels or if you just stick them on. It said its supposed to come with an install kit, and if thats true i will be calling them again... thanks.

Install kit is probably just lug nuts and tool if required, slap em on, and pray you dont need spacers

I bought my wheels and tires from wheelmax 2 years ago and had no problems. They showed up in 7 days, exactly when they told me they would. Maybe the company slacked off since then.
