I'm tryin' to find some good tires that aren't that expensive. I'm lookin' for 225/40/18... any suggestions?
i got kumho ecsta 711's for like 350 shipped for all 4 brand new.
alot of people say they have problems w/ them but i havent had a problem yet
Essenza Type R's.
Made by Goodyear. H-Rated (smoother ride).
I have had mine for only one summer, but really like them. They are very inexpensive but very good.

Id go with Toyo FZ4's those are really nice tires . They cost like 140 a tire but very nice
where did you find the 711s. I think the cheapest i found them was $412. & i've looked at the Essenzas, just haven't really heard anything about them.
i got mine on ebay all 4 brand new
$362
theres 2 auctions on ebay right now selling 4 brand new 711s for 362 w/ free shipping
i was lookin' on tirerack at the Kumho Ecsta ASX's & the 711s. That's what I'm tryin' to decide between. The ASX's are like a little over $400 & they're all season. The 711's are around $380. Both include shipping & road hazard program. Are the 711s any good what so ever in the snow & has anyone heard anything on the ASXs? & also... should i get the road hazard program?
well my car doesnt move in the snow since i have a beater but i heard the 711's arent that great in the snow

they dont make those anymore... instead they make the proxes t1-s which is a great tire. about the only price i found on the size you're looking for is about $190 a tire.
Check out my build thread!

Yeah they still make Toyo Proxes FZ4's because i work at Belle Tire and we still have them in stock and can still order them if we need em. and there about 140 a tire at normal cost but they cost me like 105 a tire

Sticky, great handling, Bridgestone quality and technology with a budget price. Not much for snowy driving, but you already said that wasn't a concern. Plus, you're asking for a budget performance tire, meaning any of the answers probably aren't going to be superior snow tires.
