If I want to paint my rims gloss black, what paint should I use? Should I just buy some paint that's compatibale with it at O'rielly's or should I powder coat it?

Powdercoat it. Paint on rims is NOT durable
^ ^ ^ Thats why I used epoxy paint ! The stuff never comes off or chips. So far its the best thing I've come accross. You either powder coat or use epoxy paint.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
How would i go about powder coating my rims? How do i find out who does it and how much do you think it would cost to do 4 16" rims? Also where would i find this epoxy paint?

My rims have been painted for a few years now, including going through winters in Canada. They are holding up just fine. I took a lot of time with the prep work though...

What kind of paint and prep work did you do? I don't mind hard work, when your done it feels that much better. I have the 16" 2001 Z-24 wheels if that makes a difference.

Ok I did a little more research and I think i am going to go with the following. Let me know of any sugestions for or against this idea. Also what kind of sanding tools will i need? A dremal tool or will my hands and sand paper be enough?
Paint Primer
Wheel Paint
Clear Coat
Is the clear coat needed? I dont want it to be glossy so I dont think i am going to do this.
Thanks

You'll want a clear coat to protect them, but you can get satin finish clear that will give you the look you want. Ever seen the hot rods with flat black paint? A lot of times it's mistaken for primer but it's satin clear that makes it look that way most of the time. Granted, on occasion it's actually primer, but you see my point.
does anyone know of a powdercoater?
maybe some contact info..
